Mrs. Gillespie as ArtistI feel it's important to show my students that I practice what I preach. I strive to be Creative Everyday. I love trying new art tools and mediums. Just like them each encounter with creativity isn't always what I had envisioned but I embrace it as an opportunity to learn and grow.
This page will contain my own artwork. Some will be examples that I create for student projects and others will be artwork created just because I love to create! Many will be artwork created or modified using an iPad.  An acrylic and mixed media painting I did of Mr. G playing guitar

I plan on introducing the iPad to my students in Art very soon. It is a wonderful tool with unlimited possibilities for Art and a great tool to combine Art with other subjects like Writing!
 My very first iPad painting after Mr. G surprised me with this awesome gift for Christmas! Here's a movie of my "Where's My Fork?" painting: Another great opportunity the iPad presents for students - and all artists is the chance to take one of their art pieces or photographs and transform it into another unique artwork using a multitude of photo manipulation apps available.
This was a crayon painting I did using crayons on a hot plate:  Here's the same image after using a photo manipulation app on it. I now have two unique artworks created from one image!

 Glow Blooms  Where's My Fork? This painting was done using Typedrawing - a great app that creates pictures using words! Tweet Tweet! This artwork was created by using a photo manipulation app on a photo I took this summer at the St. Louis Zoo. I think students would love a chance to elevate their photos into a creative artwork!
