One of the things I love about my Washington 5th graders is they are always willing to try new things. I rarely get moans or groans when I ask them to do something in my class. We spent the last couple of weeks working on something brand new to these students - Monoprints.
A monoprint printmaking
Once one print is pulled, then the plastic is repainted and the process begins again! The students created as many monoprints as we had time for in one class period. It was a fun - crazy busy 45 minutes!
The next class I had students look over their prints and pick the one they liked the best. They were given one more assignment before this project would be complete. We used colored pencils and thin black markers to add more lines and color to the print. Students were encouraged to use a lot of line quality (using a variety of lines) in the works.
The results were fun and energetic!
Washington has been my "Home" school for many years now. I enjoy teaching all the different students who make up this diverse school. I have taught a multitude of lessons in this building and have learned just as much from all of the students.
