One of the most important lessons taught to all elementary students is how primary colors mix to create secondary colors.
Kindergarten students were introduced to this concept at Washington this past week. I call it the "Adventures in Red, Yellow, and Blue"! Before this adventure begins, I introduce the primary colors to the students with three jars of water containing the primary colors. They made predictions on what color would be made as two primary colors were mixed together.
Then it was painting time! Students were each given the primary colors, a large brush, and a big piece of paper to experiment on. The mixing and painting began and the students enjoyed every minute of it! Look for these paintings soon in our Artsonia Gallery.
Washington has been my "Home" school for many years now. I enjoy teaching all the different students who make up this diverse school. I have taught a multitude of lessons in this building and have learned just as much from all of the students.
